A missing North Carolina mom’s body was discovered in South Carolina and her ex-boyfriend — a convicted murderer — has been arrested in connection to her death, according to cops and a new report.
LaPorscha Baldwin, 30, was reported missing in Gastonia, North Carolina, by family members Oct. 10, local police said.
Detectives with the Gastonia Police Department determined that Baldwin was last seen in Mecklenburg County.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department opened a homicide investigation Oct. 13 — and the next day, multiple agencies found Baldwin’s body in Fairfield County, South Carolina, authorities said.
Charles Combs, 35 — Baldwin’s ex-boyfriend, according to local outlet WCNC — was picked up Saturday in Myrtle Beach and held on first-degree murder warrants, police said.
In 2004, Combs was convicted of the second-degree murder of a previous girlfriend, WCNC reported.

Baldwin had left for work at Amazon on Oct. 10 and planned to meet up with Combs to pick up a few of her belongings, the outlet reported, citing the victim’s mother.
But Amazon informed her mother Baldwin never made it to work, and her car was discovered on Oct. 11.
The tires of Baldwin’s car were slashed, and possible blood could be seen on the steering wheel, dashboard and cup holder, the station reported.

Women’s clothing and duct tape were also found inside, according to the report.
Combs was interviewed in Myrtle Beach and will be held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County, South Carolina, ahead of extradition to North Carolina, cops said.
