Opening Day will have to wait for the Mets and Nationals.
The season opener between the NL East rivals was postponed on Thursday morning due to COVID-19 issues, according to multiple reports.
On Wednesday, Nationals GM Mike Rizzo had announced that one player had tested positive and four others were quarantining due to contact tracing. The situation was not expected to force a postponement, so it is possible that there were more positive tests.
It is unclear when either team will start their season now.
