After losing a National Championship-winning coach to the NFL, Fox Sports is adding another National Champion, The Post has learned.

Fox Sports has hired Bob Stoops to replace Urban Meyer on its college football pregame show, Big Noon Kickoff, according to sources.

Fox Sports declined comment,

After Meyer took the Jacksonville Jaguars coaching job in January, Fox Sports’ immediately zeroed in on Stoops. Meyer – who received near universal praise during his two years on Big Noon – spoke to Stoops about what the job entailed, a source said.

When Meyer returned to coaching, Fox Sports made a list of the most successful coaches in recent history. Of the five coaches (Nick Saban, Meyer, Stoops, Dabo Swinney, Pete Carroll), only Stoops was not going to be on a sideline in the fall.

In 2019, Big Noon Kickoff made some waves in its first year, becoming a legitimate challenge to ESPN’s College GameDay’s longtime supremacy. With the pandemic, the competition between the two shows was more muted in 2020.

Fox looks at its show as a collection of the biggest names with a more football-focused approach, as opposed to GameDay’s legendary atmosphere and schtick. Stoops joins Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn and host Rob Stone on the program.

Stoops, 60, retired from coaching in 2017.  At Oklahoma, he won the National Championship in 2000 and became the football juggernaut’s all-time winningest coach.

He last coached the Dallas Renegades in the XFL before the league got shut down during the pandemic.

In January, Stoops was named to the College Football Hall of Fame.
