Hot Girl tears and cheers are here.
Setting the tone for music’s biggest night off right, Megan Thee Stallion delivered one of the most refreshing and heartfelt moments in recent Grammy history during her acceptance speech Sunday.
“I don’t want to cry,” a choked-up Megan, 26, struggled to say after beating out Phoebe Bridgers, KAYTRANADA, Doja Cat, Chika, Ingrid Andress, Noah Cyrus, and D Smoke for Best New Artist honors.
The Houston-born leader of the Hot Girls fan squad went on to acknowledge her competitors for their great musical achievements and thanked her late mother for always believing in her.
Megan’s heart-melting acceptance speech trailed her Twitter-breaking reaction to receiving her first-ever Grammy award for “Savage (Remix)” as the TikTok anthem earned Best Rap Performance nods during the awards show pre-telecast earlier Sunday night.
“I’m gonna cry,” a beaming Megan said breathlessly during the Grammys pre-telecast awards Sunday after belting out back-to-back yelps of joy.
“Thank you, Lord. God is the first person I want to thank. My grandma, thank you, nanny, for making me stop music to finish school,” the “Hot Girl Summer” singer added before sending a special shout-out to her mother, Holly, who died of cancer in March 2019.
“Thank you, momma, for pushing me.”
Giving Queen Bey her due respect, the “WAP” performer graciously acknowledged Beyoncé — who stands to add a whopping 9 Grammys to her impressive collection of 24 golden gramophones tonight — for adding her special sauce to the remix track-turned-TikTok challenge anthem.
“Thank you, Beyoncé. I still can’t even believe this. What? Me? Thank you, hotties! Thank you, Houston!”
Holding back the tears, Megan went on to thank her management team and hot-girl fan base, the hotties, for fanning the flames of her fiery feat.
“Just thank everybody who is rocking with me and riding with me for a long time,” she gushed. “I love y’all so much. Thank you for just believing in me, hotties.”
Unsurprisingly, there was no extinguishing the flames of fandom as the hotties, as well as celebs like Cardi B, lit up Twitter in celebration of Megan’s big win and her even bigger reaction to winning.
“Omg megan thee stallion reaction is the purest thing i’ve ever witnessed i am so happy for her omgggg,” one music lover tweeted.
“Megan Thee Stallion is an award-winning Grammy artist,” another fan screamed out of a car window.
Moments after accepting the gold, Meg slayed the Grammys red carpet in an orange gown and teased the hotties with some upcoming heat.
“Y’all just better be ready for a Hot Girl Summer part two,” she spilled to E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic.
Hmm…Could we be in for a Shot Girl Summer?
Dare to dream, y’all.
